on 06 September 2019 RCM Board Elections Leadership

A Worthing midwife has been re-elected to the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) national Board following Board elections.

Natalie Linder is a Labour Ward Coordinator at Western Sussex NHS Hospitals Trust, took up her re-elected role on the new RCM Board this week.

Natalie Linder is also the chair and secretary of the RCM Worthing Branch. As the only re-elected member of the board, Natalie has seen changes made to the RCM, including the appointment of a new Chief Executive. She is keen to continue raising the issues and concerns of all RCM midwife and maternity support worker members.

The RCM Board is very important to the running of the RCM and is responsible for the overall direction and control of the organisation. All members of the RCM Board are practising midwives and maternity support workers who have been elected to the Board by members of the RCM.

Commenting on her re-election to the RCM Board role, Natalie said, “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my previous four years on the Board. I’ve been a part of some really important decisions and seen big changes within the RCM which I believe has strengthened the organisation. Improving our responsiveness to RCM member needs has always been my goal and I’m pleased to see strides we have made in just 4 years.  I’ve learned a great deal about the importance of effective governance and leadership during this time, skills that I can take into my role in the NHS. I couldn’t miss the opportunity to continue this role for the next 2 years.”
