Getting help

Our members know that should the worst happen they have got the best support in their corner. You know that you can turn to the RCM should you need support with disciplinary hearings or clinical negligence, but did you know that we can help with many other issues too?

If you are in need of advice or support regarding an employment relations issue, you can call on the following support:

  • Workplace representatives

Our network of workplace representatives should be your first point of call. Elected in your workplace, we train members to act as RCM workplace representatives who offer support and help to members when they are faced with employment and professional issues at work. If you do not know who your workplace representative is, please contact the RCM on: 0300 303 0444.

  • Regional/national officers

Workplace representatives are supported by regional and national officers who are employed by the RCM to act as experts in the field of industrial relations and employment law.

Through our network of workplace representatives and regional/national officers, we help members solve problems from incorrect banding and errors in their pay packet to changes in contracts and alteration of terms and conditions of employment. We help to point out unsafe working practices and whistleblowing and we also offer support when it comes to allegations of bullying, harassment and cases of discrimination.
