RCM's Great Midwifery Cake Off 2017

RCM's Great Midwifery Cake Off 2017

May 5 is the internationally recognised day for highlighting the work of midwives. ICM established the idea of the 'International Day of the Midwife' following suggestions and discussion among Midwives Associations in the late 1980s, then launched the initiative formally in 1992.  The theme for IDM 2017: Midwives, Mothers and Families.  The RCM will be highlighting the work of all our Midwives, MSWs and Student Midwives.

To celebrate the 'International Day of the Midwife' the RCM hosted the Great Midwifery Cake Off competition to encourage our members to get involved.  We are also hosted the Best #IDM2017 Event competition.  So whether a keen baker or a host, members helped us celebrate this wonderful day.

The RCM asked members to embrace their creative side and to bake midwifery-inspired cakes.  The cake with the most likes on Facebook won a £200 gift voucher from voucherexpress.co.uk

The hashtags used for the event were: #IDM2017, #RCMcakeoff, #RCMevents

Who won RCM Cake Off 2017?
