Join the #OurNHS70 march

By Julie Griffiths on 26 June 2018 NHS

A demonstration and celebration will take place in London on Saturday (30 June) to mark 70 years of the NHS.

The event has been organised by the People’s Assembly, Health Campaigns Together, The TUC and 11 other health trade unions including the RCM.

The demonstration is in support for a publicly owned NHS that is free for all, proper funding and staffing, support for NHS workers and world-class services for every community.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and shadow health secretary Jonathan Ashworth are among those expected to address the crowds.

The march will assemble at 12pm at Portland Place, London W1A followed by a procession route to Whitehall.

Participants are invited bring along family and friends as well as colourful placards or banners and to dress in bright colours or costumes associated with any of the decades the NHS has been in operation.

Sound systems will play music from each decade since the NHS was founded throughout the march route.
