Waltham Forest Branch 50 Shades of Normality Conference 2015

November 28th 2015 saw Waltham Forest RCM branch (Whipps Cross University hospital) have its first midwifery conference "50 shades of Normality" it was organised by 

learning reps Jean Broderick & Patricia sexton, Steward Christine Ensor, Chair Liz Mcgranahan and student midwife (City university) Rebecca Vogwell.
 
It was chaired by Louise Silverton CBE, RCM Director of Midwifery. The conference featured a number of well renowned speakers Dr Amali Lokugamage , Charlotte Burnell  Physiotherapist, Janet Balaskas Active birth, Khim Lee Natal Hypnotherapy & Aine Alam. There was also a lively debate.
A great turn out of 58 delegates attended the event. 
 
A raffle was also held which made £114 the proceeds went to the midwives benevolent fund.
There were various prizes for the winners including tea for 2 at the Ritz London which was won by Dawn Ashcroft From Ardomedical.
 
The branch is now set for a busy 2016 and are currently preparing to celebrate the International day of the midwife on the 5th Of May and plans are currently in progress for another conference in September. Watch This space!!!”
