Midwifery leadership programmes - 2014
The need to provide opportunities for midwives to develop leadership skills has been widely recognised for the past few years and in England Department of Health funding was made available to get things moving. The RCM working with Phi Learning, a market leader in leadership development across many sectors, are now building on this work. Many midwives have already benefited from attending the strategic leadership programmes.
The NHS Modernisation Agency Midwifery Leadership Programme development workbook arose from the Head of Midwifery Development Centres that were run during 2002. It aims to provide midwives with learning support to enable them to develop the critical midwifery leadership competencies including:
Develop a vision.
Think strategically and systematically.
Mastering Personal Change: A free to attend midwifery leadership development event
10 September, Holiday Inn Cardiff City Centre Castle Street,
Cardiff, CF10 1XD
How do you feel about change? Something to be feared or a challenge to embrace?
Our free to attend one-day event is aimed at all midwives and MSWs who face organisational change within maternity services. We will provide an opportunity for you to check your personal awareness and understanding of the changing demands on maternity services - and help you understand how you can play a full and rewarding part.
We aim to equip delegates with the knowledge skills and motivation to commit to actions required to deliver the changes demanded by the NHS as it seeks to maximise the contribution it can make to the women and families served by the profession.
