Maternity Staff welcome introduction of ‘The Staff Refuel Pitstop’ for busy Midwives!

Maternity staff at the South West Acute Hospital and Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex welcome the introduction of ‘The Staff Refuel Pitstop' which will be available during busy periods when staff are unable to take their meal breaks. 

Brenda McCabe, Community Midwife Team Leader said: “The concept of the launch of 'Staff Refuel Pitstop' under the Royal college of midwives 'Caring for you campaign', provides healthy snacks for our dedicated and caring maternity staff until they can get this required breaks. The 'Staff Refuel Pitstop' includes healthy snacks, fruit and water so that our maternity staff can stay hydrated and energised during busy periods and continue to provide the best care for mums and their babies.” 

Brenda added: “We are extremely grateful to the local community for supporting this initiative and our maternity staff would like to thank everyone for their generosity. We would like to thank Monaghan Bros Lisnaskea for the reusable water bottles, Delta Direct Lisnaskea for the food hamper baskets, Swifts Eurospar, Lisnaskea for the healthy snacks and water, Cocoon Beauticians Lisnaskea for donating products to care for the hands that care for the mums and babies. 

 “This is testament to how important Midwives and Midwifery Support staff are to families in the local area.”
