This was the first year the Barnet branch have celebrated the International day of the Midwife collectively and it was a wonderful experience enjoyed by all. We set up a table full of IDM memorabilia, mugs, pens, key rings and candles, we gave out lip balms to members of the RCM as a gift for all of their hard work throughout the year. We provided scones with cream and jam (all homemade), cakes and doughnuts for everyone which was greatly appreciated by staff.

Setting up this event was a challenge due to the short time we had, 3 weeks to prepare from scratch. We enlisted the help in sourcing personalised merchandised labelled with IDM stickers and a beautiful logo. It was worth the effort as all the items were enjoyed by all. The midwives and nurses loved the mugs and lip balms the most and they were gone in a flash!

Next year we aim to go even bigger and utilise the resources in our branch more effectively and deliver an even better event and goodies for staff.
