Apply for RCM Fellowship

Apply for RCM Fellowship

The RCM Fellowship scheme recognises individuals who provide exceptional leadership and deliver excellence in practice, education or research. RCM midwife members can apply to be considered for a fellowship and if successful, applicants can use the fellowship status to display their support for the RCM.

Becoming an RCM fellow is an opportunity for experienced midwife practitioners to showcase their experience and expertise and promote the profession of midwifery. The fellow will be eligible to use FRCM after their name and to join a network of FRCM alumni who will be invited to the annual RCM lecture as a VIP of the RCM. In addition there will be an electronic networking group for FRCMs as part of RCM i-learn or through RCM Extranet; this would enable them to share their expertise with like minded peers. All successful applicants will receive a certificate and a distinctive insignia.

As an RCM fellow, you will receive professional recognition which will enhance your career prospects. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to strategic groups, influence national policy and develop working groups. Fellow will also receive exclusive benefits such as VIP invitation to the annual Zepherina Veitch Memorial Lecture. The RCM also encourages its Fellows to present and share good practice issues at conferences and events, and to engage with opinion leaders and policy makers.

Why should you apply for a fellowship?

There are many benefits to becoming a fellow of the RCM.

  • You can lead on future developments and initiatives in midwifery.
  • You have the opportunity to contribute to the national and international development of midwifery.
  • You are an ambassador for Midwives and the RCM.
  • You are recognised and appreciated within your organisation.
  • You demonstrate role modelling for peers and colleagues.

We are committed to equal opportunities and aim to make sure that all our members are treated  fairly and equally.
