RCM's new president inaugurated

The new president of The Royal College of Midwives (RCM), Kathryn Gutteridge, will be inaugurated today at the 19th RCM Zepherina Veitch Memorial Lecture at the St Catherine's College, University of Oxford.

In her farewell as RCM President, Professor Lesley Page CBE will deliver this year’s Zepherina Veitch Memorial Lecture, the RCM’s prestigious annual platform for the best in midwifery research and thought leadership, named in commemoration of one of the pioneers of modern midwifery.

 

 

 

About the RCM President

The President is the RCM’s ceremonial figurehead and one of the RCM’s two principal ambassadors (the other being the Chief Executive). The role of President includes representing the RCM at national events; representing the RCM at international events, including the International Confederation of Midwives; representing the RCM at social occasions; and leading deputations of the RCM when appointed to do so by the RCM Board.  The President is elected by members of the RCM.
