Pay Offer Accepted in England by NHS Staff Council

Following our industrial action and long term pay campaign the Government entered into negotiations with the RCM and other NHS Trade Unions. After a week of intense and challenging talks we reached an offer that was the best offer we could achieve by negotiations and we suspended our industrial action pending consultation with you.

Our consultation closed on 25th February and a majority of RCM members in England have voted in favour of accepting the offer.

The results are:

  • 93.9% voted in favour of accepting the offer;
  • 6.1% voted in favour of rejecting the offer;
  • 44.5% members voted in the consultation.

We are pleased that a majority of you voted in favour of accepting the offer as we believe that we negotiated a good deal in challenging circumstances that was improved significantly as a result of your industrial action and campaigning.

The other NHS Trade Unions were also consulting with their members and the majority of NHS Trade Unions achieved votes in favour of accepting the offer. On Monday 9th March at the meeting of the NHS Staff Council the NHS Trade Unions formally accepted the offer for NHS staff in England.

We are pleased that the offer has now been accepted in England. We negotiated a good deal in challenging circumstances that was improved significantly as a result of your industrial action and campaigning.
