Vote for your new SMF members

The nominations for the RCM Student Midwives Forum (SMF) elections have been collated and voting is now open.

There are five places available for elected students to represent each of all four UK countries, with two representatives for Northern Ireland.

For the England representative cast your vote here. Manifestos can be viewed here and the deadline is Saturday 9 December at 11:45pm.

For the Northern Ireland representatives cast your votes here. Manifestos can be viewed here and the deadline is Friday 8 December at 11:45pm.

For the Wales representative cast your vote here. Manifestos can be viewed here and the deadline is Friday 8 December at 11:45pm.

For the Scotland representative cast your vote here. Manifestos can be viewed here and the deadline is Saturday 9 December at 11:45pm.

The elected students will contribute and facilitate an active role in the SMF, committing to four meetings per year (usually held in London) and attendance at the RCM student midwife stream at annual conference. There are also opportunities to sit on external groups to provide a student perspective.

Forum members are required to provide a short report prior to each of the four meetings updating the group on current issues faced by student midwives within both university and clinical placements. Additional feedback may be required throughout the year particularly if a student perspective is required for relevant consultation responses.

The RCM has sought nominations from black and minority ethnic student midwives, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender student midwives and those undertaking the shortened course, as well as the three year programme, to make the SMF representative of student midwives in the RCM.
