Working with the Menopause - Lothian

With more women in employment, all of whom may work for longer, it makes sense for us to think about a medical condition that will effect every women often in very different ways. The RCM would like to offer the maternity workforce an opportunity to learn more about the menopause and how this can effect them and their colleagues. There is approx. 99% of women working in maternity services in Scotland and over 40% are at an age where they are already experiencing symptoms or will be in the near future. In this half day workshop, we would like to cover the following:

  • Symptoms and duration
  • How menopause can effect work? Especially when working under pressure to meet demands of the service
  • Anxiety and stress linked to menopause
  • Types of interventions and support
  • What can employers do? Are there policies in place to support women during the menopause?
