Get involved in IDM 2018

By Julie Griffiths on 02 March 2018 Midwives IDM - International Day of the Midwife

How will you be celebrating International Day of the Midwife (IDM) 2018?

IDM takes place on 5 May and is an occasion for every midwife to think about the many others in the profession, to make new contacts within and outside midwifery, and to widen the knowledge of what midwives do for the world.

As this year’s IDM falls on a Saturday, the RCM will be holding events throughout the week starting 30 April to 5 May. More information on the different celebrations will be shared in the coming weeks.

Last year across the UK there were 110 IDM events registered with the RCM. The target this year is to increase the number of events.

The RCM is encouraging all RCM branches, workplace representatives and members to work together to host local events in their workplaces.

The theme for this year is ‘Midwives leading the way with quality care’.
