RCM launches new series of equality and diversity publications

The RCM has launched a brand new series of publications designed specifically for RCM members including midwives, MSWs and workplace representatives.

The five equality and diversity publications cover the RCM’s work as both a trade union and a professional body.

They focus on equality issues that RCM members may face in the workplace, as well as issues that may affect women using maternity services.

The publications include BME midwives, disciplinary proceedings and the workplace race equality standard, Equality essentials, Working with the menopause, Pregnancy and maternity rights at work, and Work-related stress.

RCM employment relations advisor Amy Leversidge said: ‘We are delighted to have launched these five publications, which we hope will provide valuable advice and support to midwives and MSWs throughout their working life. The publications will also be of assistance to workplace representatives and HoMs, as they contain ideas and information about how to work in partnership with trusts and NHS employers to improve health and wellbeing in the workplace.’
