An online network for practitioners in bereavement care has been launched today on the RCM website.

Midwives, student midwives and nurses who care for or are interested in caring for bereaved parents can access the new discussion area to share good practice and procedures as well as ideas and informal support.

Developed by the RCM, Sands (the stillbirth and neonatal death charity) and the special care baby charity Bliss, the bereavement care network will provide professionals with up-to-date information, resources and developments. The charity the National Maternity Support Foundation who funds a scholarship for bereavement counselling has also pledged its support for the new network.

In order to access the network everyone, including RCM members, will have to register as new users to the site, as RCM logins will not work.
