General meeting for The Royal College of Midwives

Important date for eligible voting members of the Royal College of Midwives, mark this date and time in your diaries.

A General Meeting is being held on the Thursday 13th December at 14:00 at the Melia White House Hotel, Albany Street, London NW1 3UP.  We would be delighted to see you in person to vote and appreciate your attendance. Please talk to as many other members as possible to encourage members to attend.

The purpose of the General Meeting is to vote on a special resolution which is that the Articles of Association have been amended and the two major changes are: 

  • Provision has been made for Maternity Support Workers to stand for election as a board member.
  • An Assurer’s appointment to comply with legislation.  The assurer provides the RCM an annual membership audit certificate in accordance with requirements of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992.
