We are offering the following exciting opportunity to join the RCM team:

The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) is the leading professional organisation and trade union for Midwifery.

Representing the interests of midwives across the UK individually and collectively, we strive to promote excellence, innovation and leadership in the care of childbearing women, the new born and their families, nationally and internationally.

The Royal College of Midwives is seeking a new member in our Regional Officer team who will service the needs of RCM representatives and members across the North East of England. This is an exciting and varied role, which includes a balance of representation and support for members, organising, recruiting and skilling up representatives, alongside strategic engagement across your area.

In a usual week you will have one home office day and be in your patch four days in the week making an impact.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a registered practicing midwife and have experience as an RCM steward
  • have strong administrative and communication skills (written and spoken);
  • be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • have strong organising and engagement ability;
  • be flexible, adaptable and outcome focused.
