Fundraising to support midwives and maternity support workers in challenging times.
When: 1 October - 5 December 2021
Where: In maternity units and across the UK
In 2021 the RCM celebrates 140 years since the Trained Midwives Society was established. To mark this milestone we are asking each RCM branch to raise £140 for the Cavell Nurses’ Trust which supports midwives and maternity support workers in times of financial need helping to get lives and careers back on track.
The RCM works in partnership with Cavell Nurses’ Trust to provide support to midwives and maternity support workers who find themselves in financial difficulty, whether due to ill health, fleeing domestic abuse or even emergency car repairs so that they can get to work.
The pandemic has been particularly tough on nurses, midwives and maternity support workers, with Cavell Nurses’ Trust seeing a 140% increase in requests for support. Please help us ensure that RCM members, wherever they are, at whatever stage in their career, can access the help they need.
This is a chance for midwives and MSWs to come together in their branches to have some fun and raise some money in the process.
We have created this easy guide for members with some ideas for your branch to raise funds.
