The
latest edition of the charity Tommy’s Young woman’s guide to a healthy pregnancy is available to buy online and in bulk.
Aimed
to help pregnant women under the age of 20 to make informed health choices, the
guide covers key issues such as diet, exercise, and the risks of smoking,
alcohol and drugs, as well as providing information about sexual health,
relationships and antenatal care.
Through
funding from the Department of Health, the guide has been developed with support
from an editorial board of health professionals and medical specialists, along
with input from young women who have taken part in the photo shoots,
sharing their experiences and providing feedback to the writers and designers.
Health
campaign manager for Tommy’s Susie Hill said: ‘Now that the guide is available
to order online, we hope to reach even more young women at risk through the
health professionals that work with them.’
