Calling all student midwives!

Emma Godfrey

The sun is shining (for once) and it’s a beautiful day. I can’t imagine many minds are turned to those chilly autumn months, but they are rapidly approaching and with autumn comes the RCM’s annual student conference – a must for all student midwives.

This year, the theme is ‘Are you ready for the future?’ The one-day event is being held in Liverpool’s Arena and Convention Centre on Wednesday 29 October. It costs £45 for members and £50 for non-members for the all-day package including lunch and refreshments – so get the date in your diary and book your place!

The conference is organised by student midwives for student midwives. It’s your opportunity to meet other likeminded souls, to discuss, debate and network. Leading academics, researchers and an obstetrician will be joining forces with senior College staff such as the RCM general secretary and president to explore the role of midwives in the future of maternity care.

There will be a chance for you to speak out, ask questions, participate in a conference that is for you. Your views matter to the RCM. So book, attend and tell us what you think. And of course there will be ample opportunity to discuss the latest products, services and publications with key industry figures at the conference’s exhibition.

I really hope to see you there.
