Evidence Based Midwifery

Evidence Based Midwifery is the RCM’s research journal, which promotes the dissemination, implementation and evaluation of midwifery evidence locally, nationally and internationally.

The journal publishes papers that report findings from qualitative or quantitative research studies, philosophical analyses and systematic reviews.

Effectiveness of individual clinical supervision for midwives and doctors in stress reduction: findings from a pilot study
This paper aims to examine the effectiveness of clinical supervision in reducing staff stress. Supervision in this context was not designed to assess clinical competence, but a tool to assist staff with the emotional demands of their work.
