Cavendish Review
The RCM has learned that maternity support workers will now be part of the Cavendish Review, which is being launched to look at how the training and support of healthcare and care assistants can be improved, so that patients can receive the best care. The review has been commissioned in the wake of the report into care provided by Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust and will be led by Camilla Cavendish, Associate Editor and columnist at the Sunday Times. Camilla Cavendish will make recommendations to the Health Secretary at the end of May 2013 and the RCM will be responding to make sure members concerns are heard.
