An annual grant of £10,000 has been provided to encourage the take up and/or improved duration of breastfeeding.
The grant is funded through the partnership between the RCM and Philips Avent, to help mothers breastfeed for longer.
It is open to all practising UK midwives who are RCM members wishing to fund a new initiative to support breastfeeding or the roll out of a pilot project. The scheme should focus on a defined population and have clear objectives and a process for evaluating outcomes.
The 2013 selection process is now complete.
Applications for the 2014 grant will open on 19th September.
