Midwifery Awards 2009/10

Welcome to the 2010 RCM Annual Midwifery Awards Programme.  Our awards celebrate the excellence, innovation and impact of midwifery practice in the UK. Make this the year your project or your team is recognised and rewarded.

About the awards
The RCM Annual Midwifery Awards help us each year to promote and celebrate the best in midwifery.  Over the past eight years we have highlighted outstanding achievements, groundbreaking research and innovative projects entered by midwives from all countries of the UK.  Winning or being shortlisted showcases your work to your colleagues throughout the RCM, your management and your local community.

2009/10
"Each year, the RCM Annual Midwifery Awards highlight the dedication of midwives and their teams to the women and families for which they care.
Once again, we are most thankful to all our sponsors whose support and partnership with us have made these awards possible. Through these awards we are able to celebrate the evidence-based innovation, inspiration and drive for quality in our profession today. We hear about exciting projects and highly motivated teams across all four UK countries. We meet our student stars of the future. For the first time, we also celebrate with the women who have nominated their outstanding midwives.
Sincere thanks are also due to the judges, whose challenging task it was to select our winners. Each year, the standard of entries continues to be exceptionally high and I know that those short-listing had a very difficult task.
I would also like to thank all the midwives who took the time to apply for this year’s awards. Regardless of whether or not you won, every entrant has good cause to be proud of their efforts in improving ervices for women and the newborn and are a credit to our profession. In difficult times, and as we see increasing pressures on maternity services, it impressive how many of our colleagues are working hard for quality and improvement. I hope that you will join with me in acknowledging and celebrating some of these achievements today."
