Retired member

A retired member is one who has been a full member for at least 15 years and who has ceased to be actively employed by virtue of retirement at statutory pensionable age or due to early retirement recognised by employers and who is not engaged in paid employment of any kind.

 

Annual subscription  is £32.00


Benefits comprise

  • Medical malpractice insurance  (a retired member will be covered by medical malpractice insurance for a total of 10 years after ceasing practice provided she was a full member, an associate member or a retired member at the time the claim was notified)
  • Representation for Nursing and Midwifery Council proceedings (relating to incidents whilst previously a Full member)
  • Access to professional services
  • Continuing practice development programmes
  • Midwives magazine
  • Midwives e-newsletters
  • Online Evidence Based Midwifery magazine
  • Will making service (member only)
  • Legal advice (member and family)
  • Members section of the website
  • Entitled to vote at general meetings and to vote in elections for office as a member of the Council (for 1 year after entering this category)
  • Entitled to attend at branch meetings
  • Entitled to vote at branch meetings (for 1 year after entering this category)
