The Royal College of Midwives, since its foundation in 1881, has sought to work with and support midwives from all over the world, through international fora and committees and by fostering links with individual midwives and associations.

Information about some of these activities and the main international organisations and initiatives behind them are given in this section.

Selected applicants will receive full sponsorship to a Maternal Health conference in India August 2010 and offered a 9-month work-study (also fully sponsored) with an established Ashoka fellow outside the students’ country of residence.  The application form asks for existing projects that the individual has worked on or projects that s/he would like to work on with the  help of an Ashoka fellow to advise and implement.  We welcome both types of applications from existing projects and those in the ideas stage.
